Zittitutti, who was born deaf, suddenly gets his hearing back and becomes hypersensitive to sounds, to the point of turning this handicap into a paycheck: he’s a sound mixer on films. Once at home, he’s overwhelmed by the blaring symphony of his noisy neighbors, particularly Giovanna, an emotional aspiring singer, whose desperate tears seem to usher in a new era of deafness for Zittitutti. History seems to repeat itself.
