Fourth Italian city by population, third industrial pole, arguably among the first one for its culture, its cuisine, its technological heritage, first capital of the united Italy, Turin is full of attractions. The view of the city from above – from the Superga basilica or the Cappuccini cloister – shows the Roman square plant and the Po river crossing it an dividing the hills on one side and the Savoy buildings and elegant porches on the other. All of this surrounded by the frame of the close mountains which make Turin seem like a place for memory pictures.
When you leave these glamorous views behind, the cafes and the avenues with a Paris taste, then you discover an austere and had working town, where creative wisdom and technology have melted with decades of immigration, factory workers, struggles and fatigue.
